Stories from the Soil

2025 is the Norton Priory Museum Trust’s Golden Jubilee. To celebrate we are sharing Stories from the Soil as part of our events and activities programme ‘A Summer of Stories’.
From 18th August to 12th September, we will once again be ‘Digging for Norton’ as we continue to excavate the servants wing of the manor house and the possible location of the medieval infirmary. Our archaeologists will be joined by a small team of volunteers.
We will have a special archaeological ‘I-Spy’ trail, Show and Tell sessions to see what finds have been uncovered and some special guest speakers. Tours of the dig will be available to book onto on Fridays throughout the dig to see what has been uncovered. We will also be running a series of timed archeological family activities in our ‘Learning Dig’. Please keep visiting our website as we add events. Places will be limited for tours, talks and some activities.
