Bill and Ben visit Norton Priory Museum and Gardens

Published: 24/03/2025

‘Bill and Ben,’ the much-loved CBBC characters, are visiting Norton Priory Museum and Gardens as we celebrate the opening of the Georgian Walled Garden for the 2025 season.

‘Bill and Ben’ is a CBBC programme made by Cosgrove Hall which began in 2001. It is a full-colour series involving stop-motion animation that has its origins in the 1952 TV series ‘The Flower Pot Men’.  A team of ten animators from Cosgrove Hall were involved in the creation of the series.

Cosgrove Hall Films produced quality animation by bringing together some of the most talented puppet makers, actors and animators in the UK to create, adapt and produce popular animations including Postman Pat, Danger Mouse and The Wind in the Willows.

These much-loved characters are now cared for by the Cosgrove Hall Film Archive based at Waterside Arts, Sale, Manchester.

Norton Priory Museum and Gardens are grateful to the archive for allowing us to have Bill and Ben on loan.
