Learn about life in the stone age, bronze age and iron age
The Norton Priory Learning Team offer brand new and revamped school sessions for early years through to KS3. Learning sessions take place across the site with classroom available in the museum and at the walled garden. Norton Priory is a safe place to visit and all of our workshops are risk assessed. All school groups must book in advance. We offer a number of history sessions based at Norton Priory Museum, the Walled Garden and Halton Castle including Invaders & Settlers, Medieval, Normans, Tudors, Victorian and WWII. We also offer festive Victorian Christmas Parties in the beautiful Undercroft throughout December. Or your class may prefer a science based workshop, options include skeletons, materials and natural history - pond dipping, minibeasts, habitats and gardening activities. We also offer arts and literacy sessions including fairy tales, medieval clay tiles, illumination writing with quills and wild art. Bespoke workshops are also available.
