The Norton Priory Museum is fully accessible with automatic doors and a lift to the first floor.
Toilets, including a wheelchair accessible toilet, and baby changing facilities are located on the ground floor within the museum reception area. There is also an accessible toilet within the Gardener’s Cottage at the walled garden.
There are wheelchairs available to borrow free of charge. Just ask at museum or walled garden reception desks. Please phone in advance to reserve.
The majority of the grounds are flat and accessible. Where there are steps, alternative routes are available.
There are two stone steps leading into the walled garden from the Gardener’s Cottage entrance. If you require level access please inform the member of staff in the cottage who will direct you to an alternative entrance.
Norton Priory has free car parking at both the museum and the garden. Along with an overflow car park for busy event days. The museum car park has 4 blue badge parking bays. The walled garden has 2 blue badge parking bays, although extra blue badge parking can be accommodated. Please contact us to arrange parking facilities for mini buses or coaches. Access to the main entrance from the blue badge parking bays is paved and suitable for wheelchairs.
Please be aware we offer accompanying carers free entry to Norton Priory Museum & Gardens.
There are also audio visual guides available to borrow, and a hearing loop system is installed at museum reception and within the classrooms.

Norton Priory Museum & Gardens wants all our visitors to have the best possible experience when visiting. We are always happy to discuss specific requirements prior to your visit, you can ring or contact us. Norton Priory is dog friendly and assistance dogs are welcome everywhere. However, some areas of the site are not accessible to non-assistance dogs.
Dogs are not permitted in the carpeted exhibition areas, or within the walled garden. We also ask visitors to not bring dogs inside the cafe or tea room. Seating for dog owners is available in the outdoor patio seating areas of the cafe and tea room.
We also kindly request that dogs are kept on leads when using the Norton Priory site.
